John Linney, MA
Training Team
John holds a Master's Degree in Communication from the University
of Texas at El Paso. He is Executive Director of Impact Coaching and
Speaking and has provided training, coaching, and assistance
to over 150 organizations and community partnerships throughout
the United States and Mexico. He has experience working in the fields
of youth development, education, environmental and health communication,
media, not-for-profit organization, and community building. He has
been a leader of community-based organizations and has a strong
understanding of their challenges and possibilities.
John has worked with youth in some capacity for over 20
years as a community volunteer, coach, trainer, and in public and
private schools and colleges. John has provided services and training
on positive youth development to schools, not-for-profit organizations,
businesses, civic clubs and organizations, parents, faith congregations,
and youth groups.
In addition to youth development, John provides training
and services addressing positive and safe youth climates, strategic
planning, organizational development, AmeriCorps service program
development, effective speaking, and working with the media. He
facilitates the advancement of community partnership and organizational
structures and plans. He has provided assistance to communities
in developing, implementing, and strengthening their partnerships
and youth councils and has assisted community partnerships with
securing over $3 million in resources and funding since 1999.
John is passionate about youth and community and their ability
to take effective action for positive change. His training style
is engaging, authentic, and energizing. He is committed to providing
valuable, practical tools through service and training experiences
that are participatory and educational. He has a high level of cultural
competence and is effective in many environments and communities
that are making a difference with youth.
